Wapato Public Works Department-Maintenance Worker I
The Wapato Public Works Department is now accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Worker I. The current pay range is $2,894 to $3,518 per month with a benefit package. The person must obtain or have a CDL Class B within six months. There will be some required weekend work. Minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED, able to read and write English language, basic mathematics calculations, and municipal maintenance experience desired. Bilingual in Spanish is encouraged but not required. This position will have duty assignments in Streets, Parks, Cemetery, and Water/Sewer divisions. Pre-employment drug screen and background check required. This position is a non-exempt union position. The public is invited and encouraged to all open public meetings of the City Council Regular and Work Session meetings. Both meetings are held at City Hall Council Chambers, 205 E Third Street, Wapato, WA. City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm.Council Work Sessions are informal and informational. They are just before City Council meetings starting as early as 6:00 pm.
